Performance Fluids Ltd has developed in conjunction with Solvay Solexis a unique product for use on bakery chains.

Fomblin® CL1800F is a high temperature lubricant designed for indirect food contact on Sasib Spooner (Spooner Vicars), and Spooner ovens and can be used on chains at temperatures up to 250°C.

The product has been successfully proven in trials over 5 years at major bakeries and is now the Spooner Vicars and Spooner Industries recommended lubricant for use on all new chains.

The product is also used on hotplate and crumpet lines and as it does not carbonise it allows the chain to fully articulate which is often a problem when using conventional lubricants.

The product will not discolour or thicken with time and provides excellent wear protection through the combination of the high viscosity base fluid, proprietary fluorinated anti-wear and anti-corrosion additives and sub micron ptfe.

The product extends lubrication intervals by up to 8 times compared with graphited products and typically lowers current draw by 50% compared with conventional lubricants.
